Dual rear camera setups are the norm in the smartphone world now, and we're starting to see some companies take it up a notch by using triple rear camera setups. Samsung, though, is taking things even farther with its next device.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 has leaked, showing a device with four rear cameras. Images from MySmartPrice and Evan Blass show the device and its quad camera setup, with Blass's leak offering more detail on the features that each camera will offer. There's an 8MP wide angle camera with a 120-degree field of view, a 10MP camera with 2x optical zoom, a 5MP depth camera, and a 24MP main sensor with an f/1.7 aperture

Meanwhile, a recent leak from AllAboutSamsung claims to shed light on the rest of the Galaxy A9's features. The device is expected to pack a 6.28-inch 2220x1080 Super AMOLED screen, an 8MP front-facing camera, an octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor, 6GB of RAM, and a 3720mAh battery that you recharge using USB-C. Also said to be included is 128GB obiult-in storage and a microSD card slot. This report also reiterates the camera features mentioned by Blass.
Samsung is hosting an event tomorrow, October 11th, and it seems likely that this Galaxy A9 will be the star of the show. Not only has Samsung confirmed that tomorrow's shindig will be a "Galaxy event", but the company's invitation included the phrase "4x fun".
The Samsung Galaxy A9 is sure to draw a lot of attention thanks to its quad rear camera setup. We'll have to wait and see how well those cameras actually perform, but if its leaked spec list holds true, the Galaxy A9 could be an interesting option for folks in the market for a new mid-range Android smartphone.
