Google and Verizon have had a hard time keeping up with demand for the Pixel and Pixel XL, with shipment of new orders regularly delayed weeks or even months. Now Verizon is making up for that delay by giving some customers a free gift.
Verizon is sending free Daydream View VR headsets to select customers that’ve ordered the Pixel or Pixel XL. The carrier explained to Digital Trends that it’s offering the Daydream View to a “certain subset” of customers that’ve been hit by an abnormal shipment delay and that it’s giving them the Daydream View as a “thank you” to those customers for not cancelling their orders.
The Daydream View normally costs $79.99, but it’s currently on sale for $49.99. Even at that price, though, this is a nice little gift for Verizon customers that’ve picked up a Pixel or Pixel XL. One of the highlight features of Google’s Pixel phones are their virtual reality support, and this gift from Verizon will let select customers give Google’s VR platform a try at no extra cost.
Have you tried Google’s Daydream View? If so, what do you think of it?
