Lenovo is growing the Android tablet market this month with the launch of the Yoga A12.
The Lenovo Yoga A12 runs Android on a 12.2-inch HD display, and while Lenovo calls the Yoga A12 a tablet, it really seems like more of a laptop. That’s because the Yoga A12 features a hinged design that allow the two halves to move 360 degrees.
On the bottom half of the unit is a keyboard, but it’s not a traditional physical keyboard like most laptops have. Instead, the Yoga A12 features Lenovo’s Halo keyboard, a flat touchscreen keyboard with haptic feedback. Lenovo says that the Halo keyboard will learn and adapt to your typing habits, allowing it to get faster and more accurate over time.
Inside the Yoga A12 is an Intel Atom x5 processor with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a battery that Lenovo touts will last up to 13 hours on a single charge. The Yoga A12 also includes dual speakers with Dolby Atmos technology, Google Play Store access, and a magnesium and aluminum body.
The Lenovo Yoga A12 will launch on February 8. It’ll be available in Gunmetal Grey and Rose Gold color options, with pricing starting at $299.
Not only is Lenovo’s Yoga A12 interesting because it’s a new Android tablet at a time when there aren’t many of those coming out, but it’s got a laptop form factor with a keyboard. Lenovo’s touchscreen Halo keyboard may not be for everyone, but if you’re in the market for a large screen Android tablet that you could also get some work done on, the Yoga A12 could be worth a look.
