If Apple's iPad mini has piqued your interest now that it's finally made the jump from Rumorville to Officialdom, the Cupertino firm now has an easy way for you to find a model at your local Apple store. Between 10 P.M. and 4 A.M. each night, customers can purchase an iPad mini or fourth generation iPad from Apple's website and then choose to pick their device up at a nearby store the next day if it has that unit in stock. Users can add their desired iPad model to the online cart and, if it's past 10 P.M., view the stock of local stores before committing to a purchase. Buying an iPad or iPad mini for in-store pickup the next day can also be done through the official Apple Store app for iOS.
Pre-orders for the 7.9-inch iPad mini kicked off on October 26, and the device officially went on sale on November 2. Apple's website now lists all of the Wi-Fi-only iPad mini models as being available to ship in two weeks, so this Personal Pickup system may be the best option for folks that want an iPad mini but don't live near any stores with stock for customers to just walk in and purchase. Pricing for the Wi-Fi iPad mini is set at $329 for the 16GB model, $429 for the 32GB version and $529 for the 64GB flavor. So, have any of you already managed to snag an iPad mini? If so, what do you think of it so far?
