In January of this year, Motorola announced a step-up to its flagship DROID RAZR, which released earlier in November 2011. The only notable differences between the DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX was the 3,300mAh battery in the MAXX (versus the 1,780mAh cell in the DROID RAZR) and the respective size difference. With the DROID RAZR HD that Motorola announced on Wednesday, it also announced the DROID RAZR MAXX HD, which features the same, widely-adored 3,300mAh battery.
As far as specifications go, the DROID RAZR MAXX HD hosts some of the best specs we've seen in a phone yet: a 4.7-inch 720p Super AMOLED display beneath Corning's Gorilla Glass, 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 chipset, either 32GB of built-in storage and a micro SD card slot. It all comes packed in a 9.3mm thick body whose backside is donned in kevlar.
With such a large battery, the DROID RAZR MAXX will appeal to those seeking a full day of use out of their phone, power users. Pricing and availability weren't released for the DROID RAZR MAXX HD, but it is expected to launch in time for the holidays.
