One growing concern with the ever-increasing size of smartphone displays and smartphones is the footprint of such devices. One giant phone can very nearly fill an entire pocket by itself. With the DROID RAZR M, Motorola aimed to offer "more screen per inch than ever before" with a device with a so-called edge-to-edge display.

Of the three devices announced by Motorola on Wednesday, the DROID RAZR M is the lower-tier device which houses a 4.3-inch qHD (960 by 540 pixels) Super AMOLED Advanced, 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB built-in storage with a micro SD card slot and a 2,000mAh battery. It ships with Android 4.0.4 but is said to be upgraded to Jelly Bean by the end of the year.

All of this comes in an ultra slim 8.3mm thin package. It's no stunner, but it's definitely a unique entry from Motorola. Pre-orders for the DROID RAZR M began on September 5.
