Apple has never released an iPhone with more than 32GB of storage, but a new leak has revealed that they may very well be considering it. According to M.I.C. Gadget, what we're looking at is a prototype 64GB iPhone 4 that a random Foxconn employee managed to get a hold of. The fact that the capacity on the back of the device, as well as the model number and FCC ID, are X'd out points toward this device indeed being an Apple prototype, as does the lack of a silver ring around the camera. The internals of the device look pretty legit, though, adding to this handset's authenticity. Check out a short clip of the iPhone below.
It's not really a surprise that Apple has toyed with the idea of a 64GB iPhone, especially since there are 64GB iPads and iPod Touches available to consumers right now. I doubt that Apple will end up releasing an iPhone 4 with 64GB of internal storage, but it's certainly a possibility with the iPhone 5, especially with microSD cards (and the Android phones that use them) growing in capacity. The question is, how many of us feel like we need 64GB of memory on our phone?
