At WWDC, Apple seemed to be oddly secretive about the specifications of the new iPhone 3GS, simply claiming that it ran "twice as fast" as the 3G and original devices. Thanks to an unintended website posting by T-Mobile Netherlands, the full details are up for all to see. According to the information, the device offers a 600 MHz processor and 256 MB of RAM - an increase from the 412 MHz processor and 128 MB of RAM found in the last two devices. In addition, the 3GS sports the new PowerVR SGX graphics chip, which supports OpenGL ES 2.0.
Why Apple didn't come out and admit the specifications is beyond us, but at least we have some concrete data. A screenshot from T-Mobile Netherlands website is below.
