the display is just incredible has a little bit of a lag here and there and the cpu is very fast and above average
Phone display is great, runs smooth, battery is great, this device is the best out there
I love using my Z10! It has everything I need in a phone. The typing experience can not be compared to any other phone. It always knows what I am trying to write and fixes all the mistakes while I clumsily hit the wrong letters with my thumbs. The display is crystal clear to read and write text and also to view pictures or video. The speed of the phone is amazing, everything loads up super fast especially when on LTE. The browser loads up any page or media flawlessly. The camera takes great pictures and has cool features like time shift and rapid burst as well as a photo studio in the camera to edit pic before sharing or posting. The share feature is also one of my favorites, basically at anytime you can select the menu and share things to Facebook, Twitter, BBM, email, text, linked in etc. The hub has all your messages and you can respond to anything without having to exit the app you are using, just swipe up and over respond and then click back on the active frame it's that simple. The battery sustains the phone at have usage all day and is also easy to remove and replace with a charged one if necessary. In terms of app I have all the ones I have always used; I love Sound Hound, Facebook, Twitter, Crackberry, Skooday, Songza, Rocketman for ttc, Pinterest, Hubb++, Camera Scanner for. PDF ( which can turn any pic you take into a PDF) and of course the native calendar, remember and maps apps are so well designed and easy to use.
Display: The display on the One is unlike any other smartphone in my opinion. Everything is crisp and detailed and colors are accurate. Watching hd videos on YouTube is, to put it simply, awesome. Best in the business.
Speakers: What can I say besides, they're awesome. These are the best speakers on any smart phone to date, at least that I know of. I enjoy the extra little bass beats brings to the table and these speakers make video watching even more pleasurable. Music is also loud, sounds full, and clear.
Design/Form Factor: Once again, I believe this is the best design in the business and that includes Apple's iPhone. I am a fan of the iPhone and Apple but the rounded back and full metal body of the One set it apart. It rests comfortably in the hand and can still be used with a single hand without discomfort. The phone is absolutely gorgeous and draws attention when not in a case, which for me is almost all the time. It may be may be heftier than the iPhone and other prominent Android devices, but for what you gain in display, and sound from the dual front facing stereo speakers, it's worth it. It feels slim and great to the touch. I would argue it's the best design ever for a phone.
Battery: Here is where the One comes back to the pack. Battery life on the One is sufficient in that I can get a full work day out of it, but I often find myself charging when I get home. I'm a pretty heavy user so I suppose this is not a negative, and I understand that a bigger battery would in most cases mean a larger phone. I'd rather have the slim feel of the One than a bulkier handset.
Software: At first I was extremely skeptical of Sense, as I did not love it on my HTC EVO 4G back in the day, and have since had great experiences with the Nexus line. However, with that said, I have found Sense 5.0 to be an absolute joy to use. The additions such as Blinkfeed, Zoe, and Video Highlights are fantastic. I use all three daily and can't imagine using a phone without them now. Sense has been toned down and once you remove the traditional clock and weather widget you almost forget it's there at times. With my experience with the Galaxy Note 2 I came to hate Touchwiz and eventually just used a launcher to completely replace it. The OS seemed clunky and contained many features that were not useful to me, but may be to others. Overall, as I stated earlier, Sense contains features that I find useful and use daily. There are some quirks, removing and adding icons from the bottom tray being one of them, but they do not diminish the experience.
Camera: My experience with the camera has been quite positive. I don't use my phone as a camera to take photos I plan to have printed out so the loss of detail there doesn't change my opinion of the camera. It performs admirably in low light situations, better than most phones I have tried. Day time photos are clear and produce accurate colors. There are times when a lack of detail is certainly noticeable, however, for the average user sharing to Instagram, Flickr, and Facebook, this camera is more than adequate. I have taken some very high quality shots with it and I find the macro mode constantly produces very nice shots. A huge plus for the camera is the software HTC has included that allows you to manipulate the settings to produce better photos. Also included, is the Zoe feature which most are familiar with now, as well as the Highlights feature. I love having these features and use them often for shots of my nephew and then share the video with family and online. Again, these are features that may mean nothing to most, but I find them extremely useful. There are smartphones available that take more detailed photos, especially in well-lit situations but for my needs this camera is perfect when you combine its pure capabilities with the camera software included.
Overall, there is not a phone out currently that I would want to trade my HTC One for, including the new iPhone 5S and it's fancy fingerprint sensor (I remember that feature on an Android phone a few years back, but I digress). HTC hit the ball out of the park with this device and it's truly a shame they have done such a poor job marketing it and getting it into the hands of consumers. The delay with Verizon certainly didn't help. I certainly hope HTC will continue to produce high quality devices such as the One and I see a brighter future ahead if they do.
I enjoy trying new mobile tech and have found I enjoy Android the most but do not hate the others. There are things I enjoy about iOS and Windows Phones.
To give you an idea of the phones I have used over the years here's a short list :
1) Apple iPhone 3G - eventually jailbroke
2) HTC Evo 4G - First android phone and rooted after less than a year.
3) Apple iPhone 4
4) Galaxy Nexus
5) Galaxy Note 2
6) iPhone 4S - jailbroke
7) Samsung Galaxy S3
7) LG Windows (borrowed from a friend when my phone broke, don't even remember what the phone was called)
8) HTC One
The key differentiator... LCD vs. AMOLED. Be aware that latest AMOLED displays have higher color gamut, and better contrast. So video is clearer on AMOLED. Text is perfection on this LCD though. Only other caveat, no expandable card storage. Beats the HTC One (better camera, faster OS.) Just barely beats the Droid Maxx because of the camera. 16GB GS4 loses to 32GB G2. But the Note 3, if you can stand this size, will probably be the number one having both AMOLED + CAMERA + STORAGE. LG G2, a very good all arounder. But Droid Maxx is a very close 2nd.
I actually prefer at&t over Verizon Wireless. I think that at&t is less evil compared to the other two. I use to have Sprint and T-Mobile and where I would have no signal with those, I now get signal with at&t. It feels good to have a truly nationwide carrier. I also like their call quality and phone selections. But the bad...... at&t's customer service is ATROCIOUS! IT IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH! It started at the at&t store. I had just purchased a brand new Samsung Galaxy S3 and went into the store to activate it because silly me inserted the SIM card wrong. Since I was a new customer, I figured I might as well go ahead and port my number over from Sprint while I was in the store. The representative was very nice, she came over to me after I was waiting for about 15 minutes with an iPad to help me out. She told me that I couldn't port my number over because the system wouldn't let her. I found this strange since I have never had this problem in the past. She proceeded to create a new number for me. I told her that I didn't really want a new number because too many people and businesses have my current number. She told me to just send out a mass text message. I left the store and called customer service. To make a long story short, I was able to port my number into at&t by calling their number porting department, but it wasn't easy. It took about 6 hours to get it done, which was completely unacceptable! I was waiting on hold, then transferred. When I finally got someone who could help me, she could not speak english at all! She didn't even know how to spell Maryland! She kept putting me on hold for 15 minutes at a time. She kept asking me the same information over and over. She sounded like she may have been from India? Once I was on the phone for an hour, I had enough. I asked for a supervisor because it seems like she wasn't understanding me and didn't know what she was doing. I asked over and over and over and over, and over again! She would not put a supervisor on the phone. I couldn't believe it. So I had to hang up on her. I called back, and got another rep from some other third world country, and she was WORSE!!!!!!! I WAS SO UPSET. That call was 45 minutes. Once again, nothing was accomplished. Mind you I had to wait on hold to get to her in the first place. Ended up having to hang up on her. I told her it was taking way too long and I had other things to do. Her english was non existent. I googled on the internet a dedicated number porting number for at&t. I found one. The guy I was connected to was from another country, but was much more easy to understand. He did not have a good attitude at all. He seemed to be irritated with his job and very frustrated. It was not a pleasant experience, but I was finally able to get my number ported. It only took hours upon hours! IF I EVER HAVE TO GO THROUGH THAT AGAIN, I WILL BE GOING TO VERIZON WIRELESS RIGHT AWAY THAT IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! But like I said, at&t's other services and reception is top-notch. I just hope I don't have to call customer service for anything again. I literally could not get anything done it was out of this world that they would hire people that cannot do the job what-so-ever!
I understand the biased opinions about the iPhone 5s what I don't understand I how you can take any android phone and customize it in anyway you want rearrange whatever want I have own every iPhone that has came out and just about every high end android and in everyday use I know that I phone's are easier to operate but with time you will never male me believe a galaxy s4 isn't the best all around phone on the market currently the gs4 has so many more features than a iPhone 5s from smart pause to air view to all the gestures and even back to the customizations this is why I think the gs4 is the best smartphone on the market
When it comes to the tech world (cell phones to be exact) I'm in love with it. I've tried just about all of the best smartphones out there from Samsung Galaxy line to the HTC One line and every generation iPhone, and the winner is still the iPhone. Some can claim to be fast, to have the best screen quality, to have a better camera and so forth and so forth but the fact still remains that they're in battle with the iPhone. It just works its display is gorgeous and built quality is second to none. Its simple yet does everything you need and want it to do. I really love how fast it charges as well something no other phone that I have tried done better. iPhone is myPhone and the best phone period.
Everything about this phone is good I have yet to find one flaw with it. The update made the camera so much better and that was really the only knock against this phone.
Display: What can be said at 1080p. With it's IPS LCD3 screen it's only real competition is the HTC One. It looks beautiful especially since i am coming from an iPhone 4S. I love the grey / light blue scheme of the notification drop down. Every color looks bright and easy on the eyes.
Call Quality: I have only called someone once so far and it was like any other phone i guess. It didn't blow my mind or anything but it didn't sound awful. I would call it average. Not knowing what good sound quality sounds like.
User Interface: It's like touchwiz but less terrible. It has a better natural feel and you don't feel like it's trying to suffocate you with features you don't need. I wish the menus were gray and light blue, would look much better than white. I can ignore that though for how amazing this phone is. I hate on touch wiz all the time and this interface is not too different. It's just made better and has less more useful features VS. too many useless features.
Camera: The camera is gorgeous and not a thing wrong with it. It looks much better than the iPhones and everyone seems to think that apple has the best camera. Well they are wrong, since nokia has an over powered 41mp camera this is the next best thing. It's incredibly clear and sharp.
Design: Ok so many people harp on them for using plastic which makes no sense seeing as samsung has used an ugly plastic design for years. LG atleast makes their plastic look good and not cheap. It feels really great in the hand also. It might attract fingerprints but it's not that noticeable to me. What verizon did with their power button and camera ring is questionable. While i think it makes it look fancy i also think the buttons are hard to find. That said i almost NEVER use the back buttons due to knock on feature. This feature is in all honest great, but it has the tendency to work when it wants to sometimes. You can tap 4 times or 2 depending on how the phones feeling. That also doesn't bother me too much.
Battery Life: I could go on and on about this. I have to TRY to kill this battery. I play a game for about 2hrs and that brings it down to 89%. That same day i stream music for 2hrs to and from work on 4GLTE and Bluetooth. That brings it down to 80%. I am always checking facebook and browsing the web here and there. At 50% on day 2 i pretty much do the same routine. This phone has the best battery i've seen to date. 3000 should be the standard battery size nowadays. It really is something!
Apps: It's android so i don't really get the rating on that. It's better than apples app store in my opinion. Has everything they have minus the useless apps that get up rated by bots.
All around: I can say i am 100% satisfied with this phone. It has some small quirks like any phone does but because it's so well made and put together i really can't negate anything. The small things don't bother me enough to return the phone. The screen size is amazing coming from a 3.7 or 4 inch phone. The camera and battery are everything i heard they'd be. LG is not getting enough credit for this phone much like HTC for their HTC One. Oh and i forgot to mention the speakers. The sound is also great even though people seem to be knocking them. Lets face it, just because they don't have front facing speakers doesn't mean they suck. That's everyones attitude right now. The positive is the loudness. HTC and their front facing speakers are certainly louder than the G2's bottom speaker. That said i have no problem even still. They sound good! A little lack of bass but still great as i have listened to streamed EDM music many times while not connected to my car radio. This phones only real competition is the HTC One which i considered getting a lot. I heard the battery wasn't amazing on the One and that got me worried. Yes it is metal and yes it has front speakers, but that wasn't everything to me. I also think Sense 5 is the most beautiful UI out there. That said, i kind of got over it! I waited so long and got used to it being out that i didn't want it any more. I wanted the latest and greatest. That's what this phone is. Build quality does not matter and is something that is only a plus. It is a bonus, and to me plastic is fine. Doesn't matter if your phone is plastic or metal, it will scratch and chip or even dent when it falls. Put a case on your phone people!. Don't buy cheap cases either, spend a little money. I do not think the iPhone 5, 5s, or 5c are on this phones level. LG did a great job
The big 5.8 inch 1080p super Amo-LED display is awesome, battery life is outstanding it can last atleast 2 - 3 days with normal use, the design is great, the features is what people wants to see and use with their device. overall: great phone, 9/10
best in the android choice so far ..
