Most phones with the kind of power the Nexus 5 has utilise at least a 3000 mah battery. There was no excuse to use a 2300 mah battery. A lot of LG's lower end phones like the LG Optimus F3 and LG Optimus F6 on t-mobile have larger batteries (2460 mah) so why the 2300 mah battery on a high-end device like the Nexus 5?
With that said, it's a fantastic device with little to no lag. The Android 4.4 OS has definitely matured since the introduction of Android 4.0. Contrary to unjust popular belief, the Camera on the Nexus 5 is one of the best on a smartphone to date. Yes, the shutter speed is slow, but the picture quality is quite good.
Best smartphone of 2013. this phone is a feature packed smartphone.
If you're looking for a smartphone with an excellent full HD display, an awesome camera and amazing battery life, then look no further...the Galaxy Note 3 is KING! Not only that, I LOVE the hands-free mode (which allows you to answer calls without touching your phone, and you don't even need a Bluetooth headset if you are comfortable talking with the loudspeaker on) and the S Pen (more precisely, the astounding range of functionality it adds to the phone). If you're looking at performance, specs, and features, there is simply no phone out there today that could possibly beat the Note 3.
However, if you're more concerned with other factors such as pocketability, ergonomics, and build quality, the Note 3 may not be what you're looking for. For starters, it is very difficult to fit into a jeans pocket, and it is just too big for comfort when operating the device one-handed. The body also feels very flimsy (i.e., it does not at all feel solid in the hand because of its light weight and thin design). If it falls out of your pocket and lands on one of its corners, you might have to kiss your Note 3 good-bye. It is also not waterproof or dust-proof like the Sony Xperia Z1 (even though you cannot use the Z1 in saltwater or in the sand, which kind of defeats the purpose).
So, in the end, the decision to purchase (or not purchase) the Galaxy Note 3 would really depend on your priorities. Personally, if they could fit all of Note 3's hardware into a body the size of an iPhone, I would have no complaints whatsoever.
Yeah its a great device with a big battery , big screen blah blah but im experiencing lags when i put it to heavy usage ! Otherwise would have been better
Nice screen, fantastic battery life, fast charger, fast working, decent camera.
I've had this phone since September 2 and all I can say is its an amazing phone. The only minor problem is that wifi signal is sometimes weak.
The LG G2 truly is an amazing smartphone, if you like to spend countless hours using your Smartphone for Web, Video, Photos, Gaming, Social Media, Music, etc, then you will NOT be disappointed with the G2, it will get you through a full day with very heavy use with lots of battery to spare!
Great screen: bright, vibrant, high contrast, excellent resolution.
Great battery: lasts at least a day even on heavy usage.
Great processor & memory: snappy, no jitters with smooth of multitasking experience thanks to 3GB memory.
Good features: multiwindow, SPen to name a few.
Questionable extra features: air gestures, air view.
Subjective design & build quality: depends on your taste you may like or dislike the build quality and design.
I'm super happy with this phone, the happiest I've ever been with a phone in fact. If compared to any other device on the market it has the best battery life of them in most cases by far (plus the battery is removable). On top of this it charges faster than most of the competitor devices out there. It is a physically gorgeous device. Has as much built in memory 32 GB as virtually all the competitors with the added benefit of expandable storage. It is a super fast and fluid device. The screen is gorgeous (easily on par with virtually all the other screens on the market and better than most). The size might be slightly large for some people but you benefit from the great screen size while being at the upper limit of what's handlable. The device is also nice and light, which is great (lighter than the last 2 note devices). It has one of the best video cameras on the market able to take 4K video and 1080p video @ 60 FPS with fantastic image at least in proper lighting. The daylight camera is certainly excellent, though the low light camera leaves a lot to be desired. The speaker are great being one of the loudest devices on the market.
It's one of the only devices running Android 4.3, the Samsung value adds are significant whether or not a person likes Touchwiz it definitely gives a lot more capabilities to the phone and is better designed than most alternatives. For example, a lot of the music players don't allow navigation by folder, Samsung's does. HTC Sense, LG's UI, etc. don't allow you to rotate through the home screens like a carousel while on Samsung you can. Being able to adjust phone settings (wifi, etc.) is more convenient on Samsung than any other device with all the options directly in the notification shade. The multi-tasking on Samsung is second to none especially with the S-Pen. The media streaming eco-system on Samsung is only rivaled by Apple and beats everyone else by far. The S-pen gives it a unique advantage and flexibility not available on other competitor devices.
Bottom line there really isn't any competition, the only reason not to go with this device would be if you really needed the low light photo taking capability, if you found the screen too large to be manageable, or you were deeply invested in the Apple eco-system (then of course the iPhone 5S is the best), or if you needed a much cheaper off contract phone (then of course the Nexus 5 is the best). As a general rule though and in the aggregate the Note 3 is far and away the clear winner amongst current smartphones.
Although it's already 1 year since the launch, the Note 2 still not disappointing at all and still outperform many high-end device in real life
I love this phone, I have had it since the second day. the screen is absoulute amazing, and I actually like touckwiz. It runs smooth and it doesn't get lagg, even with tochwiz!!
I love taking photos, with 20.7 mp camera, you wouldn't ask for more like Nokia 1020, but best of this of Xperia is since the Xperia Z.Waterproof. Underwater shots have never been better and nicer. Snapdragon 800 processor does it's job very well. As far as it goes with Triluminous display, I'd have to be honest and not biased to Sony, HTC Butterfly have a warmer display. But with Sony's latest QX lens attachments, that's the main game changer. Overall quite impressed with the phone.Battery mode on Stamina keeps your phone active for 2 days of active usage on HSDPA( my country is still optimizing LTE, will do more battery reviews on that.) Holding in the hand feels very solid and sturdy. The elegant curves and materials really keeps it in a good quality series of phones.
Display is amazing. Outstanding battery life, I can get at least two days on a single charge.
The iPhone 5S is awesome! Touch ID is my favorite feature on this device!
I have tried the 3GS,4,4S, 5 and now this current offering. I always went back to android. Not this time. While android continues to grow in size and features I get less excited. They are too big and feature packed. How's that bad you ask? Well I'm old enough to have come from the analog brick to this. I consider myself average size. The ideal size to me is 4.3 inches. Find a real flagship device in that size. My LG G, and galaxy 3 both were too big and so feature packed I felt like I needed a special training course to appreciate it. I had connection issues with both just like the iPhone 5. The call quality on speaker and car Bluetooth was average at best. That led me to the 5S. It is a hair small but the screen is bright and easy to read. The keyboard on the iPhone is still the best. It is designed to be a phone first. The camera is great. So in its lack of new features and smaller size I have found a solid combination of user friendly happiness.
I read about every new phone I could, I went to Best Buy and played with as many as I could, and I couldn't keep my hands off the Samsung Galaxy Note 3!!! I just didn't want to put it down!
I'm new to the high bred cell phones (I turned in my Samsung Galaxy Prevail from Boost Mobile .... I'll let the laughter die down a bit ....to get the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with Verizon,) so I wanted to really know what I was getting.
I read and read and read some more. I watched dog fight after dog fight after dog fight. I have to admit, much of what was being said I didn't understand.
But actually going into Best Buy and playing with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in the Samsung Store inside Best Buy had me hooked. I couldn't put it down.
Because I am so new to all of this technology, I went to Samsung.com and watched all the how to videos I could as soon as I brought it home. The more I use it, the more I Love It. I am so glad I went with this phone.
My other choices were LG G2, HTC ONE, and IPhone 5s, and Samsung Galaxy 4.
While I still have much to learn about this phone and it's uses apps and widgets, I'm finding it easier than I expected.
I Love the feel of it, the weight of it and even the size of it. I woke up this morning thinking about my phone : ).
Who does that?
I became a member of phonedog just so I could vote for this phone!
Go to Best Buy, find the Samsung Store inside and just play with it. You will fall in love too!
Best build quality and design in a smartphone along with the iPhone. Crisp, vivid, bright display which is the best display on a smartphone, period. Great call quality, due to the Boomsound speakers. The front-facing speakers are out of this world, best speakers on a phone by far, period. The battery life is average, nothing great, nothing terribly bad, will get you through a day with mixed usage. The camera is a good day to day shooter, great low light performance, and good, useful camera features. HTC Sense 5.5 is great! Cannot go wrong buying this fast device even 7-8 months down the line.
This is my favorite phone by far! I love the huge display and its 1080p, so that makes all the better! I have never had one phone that I am able to make it through the day, but that changes with this Note 3! I can easily go through a whole day even two days with out having to charge it. It also charges extremely fast! The Snapdragon 800 along with 3GB of RAM makes this one of the fastest devices on the market and trust me, you can see it! Overall this is the best phone on the market in my opinion!
The Nexus 5 is every bit as good as I thought it would be. A pure Android 4.4 KitKat experience without manufacturer/carrier bloatware is incredible! How can anyone pass up the N5 for an Iphone?!
