The display that we found on the GS5 is great with the 1920x1080 screen resolution and 432 ppi, the colors really pop out of the screen and punch you in the face with it's vibrant color reproduction. It's a solid performer in Reception & Call Quality. The 2800 mAh removable battery in the GS5 is already huge and knowing that you can have an spare one is just saying that the GS5 has a great battery life. I'm not a fan of the perforated design that is found on the back of the GS5 but that design doesn't attract water so it helps on the IP certification and it gives better grip than the previous shiny plastic back cover found on the GS4. The Apps & Media Support is kinda good. For me the biggest downside of the GS5 is the touchWiz because until right now it's still give a little bit lag on GS5 and it's still not that optimize for the great hardware found on the GS5.
I pay $40 a month for Android service. Like everyone, when I call customer service my preference would be for a live person to pickup on the second or third ring and competently resolve whatever issue I'm having. Doesn't quite work like that. Nevertheless, I've spoken to reps on several occasions and have found it no different than talking to customer service reps elsewhere. They have their corporate manners and questions all in order. Never hurts to be courteous.
Paying my bill on time every month probably eliminates the need to ever call customer service. Combined with realistic expectations I have few complaints. I send and receive texts just fine. I can access the web with Firefox. Not always as responsive as I'd like, but what am I expecting for $40 a month? I send and receive calls all over Boston, no problem. Texts are no problem. Out of the city service can be spotty like on a road trip, but I'm almost always in the city.
The only regret I've had is not putting insurance on my $300 phone which I dropped and cracked the screen on. It still works and I've epoxied the screen to contain the damage. Life goes on.
One of these days I may upgrade to a premium carrier but if I do I'm likely to miss my low $40 monthly payment.
You get what you pay for, and for what I pay, I feel as though I get quite a bit. Thank you.
good form factor&Design, long battery life,Runs smoothly on multitasking..
HTC One (M8) is the best android smartphone on the market. It has amazing hardware, great design and a dual camera, all that with the new Sense 6.0 (KitKat 4.4.2). It has everything that a phone-geek needs. Only the camera is 4MP, but it takes great photos and videos. I recommend this smartphone to everyone that doesnt worry about the camera.
simply the best all around smartphone yet again in 2014. I'm really glad that HTC keeps on coming back to get up on its feet again. Best Premium device out there for your buck and easily gets the award for quality build device as well. of course all device have their own cons in this case, sticking with the 4Upixel on in main shooter, I think still a bold move on HTC's part. In the end, it boils down to personal preferences. In my case, I'm going for HTC FTW!
m8 is made like a jewelry, it will breeze through any heavy app u give it. Modern combat , Riptide, Real Racing 3.. all easy. Even the moga game controller is easily compatible
Coming from a Moto Droid Razr HD this is a big improvement. This phone is super fast and launches and closes apps seamlessly. The screen is huge with amazing color. Even with and otterbox defender series case on it, it is still thin and fits in the hand very nicely. The only down side it the finger print scanner works about 75% of the time but at times it only takes one try but sometimes it takes a couple. Overall a great phone and worth the upgrade.
Only flaw I can see in the S5 is the ring....my first two rings are at a lower volume than the rest.....not a deal breaker by no means because other than that, the phone is awesome!
coming from a GPE S4, love this phone, battery life is more than plenty for me! first skinned android phone i use and actually enjoy using! no more Samsung Crap for me, once you go with a phone with this high of a build quality, you will never want to go back!
I've been with T-Mobile over 15 years. Although I have had a few problems, they have been quick to fix them. The only exception to this is; I traded in my My Touch Slide last May in the Conway, SC store and was told I would get a 50.00 credit. Up until April 20th, I hadn't received it. I had been dealing with the stores manager who assured me, every time I talked to her, she would take care of it and get it done. She never did. I found out that the store never sent the phone back later I gave it to them. The last time I talked to her, she said she would give me 25.00 credit this month and then the other 25.00 in May. I said ok if that is all you can do. Two days later, nothing was credited to my account. I called customer service Easter and explained my problem. Jennifer read through all the notes on my account, apologized that it was their fault and immediately credited my account the 50.00. So, needless to say, I will never ever go to the Conway store again. I'll take my business to another store, even if it means out of state.
Coming from an S4, I didn't expect a lot of differences, but I am so pleased with this phone. Amazinlgy fast and the display is ridiculously brighter when viewed next to my old S4. Reading outside is so much easier. Love the waterproof aspect although I'm afraid to test it. As long as Samsung make quality phones and don't cave in to the pundits, and keep the removeable battery and sd card, I'll stick with their phones.
except the application availability every thing else is cool
So nice looking. Excellent camera functions. Wonderful sound quality. It is so attractive that I bought one.
This is da best phone fit to a one hand operation and bunch of performance
The M8 is a phone that has not fallen short of the HTC dna. It's got features you will actually experience and use. As usual, it's difficult to explain the depth of user experience cos things just work. You just get sucked into the phone and it's awesomeness without looking for things to fiddle with, they look for you! The camera is great and adds features you can actually benefit from rather than just brag about. This goes for the other features like the TV function, blinkfeed (like it or not), awesome speakers, lock screen accessibility, beautiful looks and overall responsiveness.
This is one fine piece of mobile hardware folks. Sense 6 has been stream lined to the sexiest minimalistic UI overlay on Android.
Awesome phone. Battery life is very good. Best looking phone. Great design, speakers are super loud. Sense 6 UI is very very good
I've been using nothing but HTC devices since 2008, why? Because they've always put quality and user experience first before gimmicky tricks. When I purchased the M7 last year, I knew this was the one that would outshine all others and with the right advertisement it would of out sold all others. Now, surprise, HTC brought out the M8 with so many improvements as they've done so many times in the past, they have always had a knack for leading the way in innovation. This time with the duo cameras, yea some people knock it for the specs and lack of attention to the settings, if they'd really give it a try they wouldn't. Overall, this is the best performer in battery life, speed, graphics and design. Never knock anything without first trying it out first, once you've tried the M8,you'll never go back
