This is the Samsung Galaxy S7, the successor to the really good Galaxy S6. While on the surface, it may only look like an incremental update, the S7 is a really important step. While it may stick to its 5.1-inch QuadHD Super AMOLED display size, Samsung chose to change a few things to make the S7 a more widely loved device. Starting off with the new design. It's hard to tell but when compared to the S6 and its Blue Sapphire color, the Black Onyx on the S7 is a much more attractive looking color. Also, the alumium bands are darker and feel a whole lot more nicer in the hands.
Internally, Samsung has opted for a Snapdragon 820 processor, the Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB of RAM, and 32 or 64GB of internal storage. But worry not because Samsung has brought the microSD card slot back and it now lives next to the nano SIM card.
The battery has been improved by a whole 400 mAh. Now with a 3,000 mAh battery, the S7 should prove to be a beast of a device with the same battery size as the Note 5. But due to the bigger battery, the S7 has gained a bit in thickness and weight. And for that, I say thank you Samsung.
Another big change is the IP68 water resistance rating. Throw it in a pool, drop it in a toilet or give it to your dog as a chew toy; the S7 can handle it. Though in my opinion, one of the largest changes on the S7 is the camera. A new 12MP unit down from the 16 before but filled with larger pixels and a technology called dual pixel autofocus. This is something we'll have to discuss in a future video but this camera is going to be the absolute bomb. Also, the camera bump is completely gone on the S7. Now in the hand, the S7 feels much nicer; and that's mostly due to the curved back they adopted off the Note 5. But the form factor of the S7 is just so nice. 5.1 inches as a screen size for one handed operation and added curve on the back to make it a killer combo.
The last piece that makes this device the best device of 2016 is amazing battery life and I think that will pass with flying colors.
So that's been my brief look at the Galaxy S7.
