One week after AT&T announced its plan to increase the price of its grandfathered unlimited data plan, T-Mobile has revealed a new deal aimed at AT&T customers frustrated by the price hike.
T-Mobile's WTH (Why the Hike) Deal offers a $250 prepaid card to AT&T customers with a grandfathered unlimited data plan to switch to T-Mobile. The deal will go live on June 20th.
To qualify for this deal, you'll need to be an AT&T customer with a grandfathered Data Unlimited for iPhone on 4G LTE with Visual Voicemail plan. When you're ready to switch, visit a T-Mobile store or call 1-800-T-MOBILE and tell them you're an AT&T customer and want the WTH Deal. You'll need to port your number from AT&T and validate that you're eligible for this plan when you activate your new T-Mobile service.
In addition to this deal, AT&T customers switching to T-Mobile can sign up for other T-Mo promos, including Carrier Freedom. That deal offers up to $650 via trade-in credit and prepaid card to customers who switch to T-Mobile to cover their ETF or remaining phone payments.
AT&T announced last week that it will increase the price of its grandfathered unlimited data plan to $45 in July 2018. This is the third time that AT&T has increased the price of the plan, which originally cost $30 per month. AT&T customers still holding on to their grandfathered unlimited data plan have had it for a long time at this point, but some could be frustrated by this latest price increase and may be tempted to switch to T-Mobile because of this WTH Deal.
