T-Mobile has some new offers for military customers and their families.
T-Mobile One Military will launch on April 22. This discounted rate plan offers 20 percent off the first line and up to half off additional lines. That means that the first line is $55 per month, the second line is $25, and lines three through six are $10. These prices include autopay; without autopay, the price per line increases $5 per month.
This new military plan includes all the same benefits as the standard T-Mobile One plan. This includes Simple Global, Netflix On Us, T-Mobile Tuesdays, and more.
The T-Mobile One Military plan is available to active duty military, Reserve, National Guard, veterans, and Gold Star families. It's also available to military customers with small businesses, up to 12 voice lines.
T-Mo is giving a hardware discount to military customers, too. Through May 31, anyone on a T-Mobile One Military plan can get half off a Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+, or Galaxy S8 Active. Customers will just need to buy their new phone on an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) and they'll get their discount spread out over 24 monthly bill credits.
T-Mobile is also planning to spend more than half a billion dollars in 2018 to expand the capacity and coverage of its LTE network around military bases and communities. T-Mo will lay the groundwork for 5G coverage in these areas as well by deploying 5G-ready infrastructure.
Finally, T-Mo has pledged to hire 10,000 veterans and military spouses in the next five years as well as provide funding and support for the FourBlock Career Readiness Program. This program, which helps military transition to civilian careers, will be made available in 20 total cities and launch online this fall.
