This week, Google officially launched the first Android P Developer Preview. Some folks were frustrated because many Android phones are still waiting for their Oreo update, but today that wait ends for two devices.
The LG V30 on Verizon and Moto Z2 Force on Sprint are now receiving their Android 8.0 Oreo updates. Verizon hasn't officially announced the Oreo update for its LG V30 yet, but some owners are receiving the OTA update, which is 1.8GB in size and bumps the phone to version VS99620a.
Also of note is that Verizon is sending an update to the LG G6 that includes the February 2018 Android security patches. The update is software version VS98816A.
Meanwhile, the Sprint Moto Z2 Force is being updated to software version OCX27.109-48. This update includes Android 8.0 Oreo.
Android 8.0 Oreo originally began rolling out to devices in August 2017, but only a handful of non-Nexus and non-Pixel devices have received an Oreo update since then. It may have taken a while, but it's good to see more Android flagships getting their Oreo update.
