Huawei and Google are working together to offer an improved messaging experience on Huawei smartphones.
Huawei is adopting Google's Android Messages experience for its smartphones. This means that Android Messages will come preloaded on Huawei smartphones in the coming months.
With Android Messages comes RCS messaging, which offers features like texting over Wi-Fi, rich media sharing, group chats, and typing indicators, all built in. Messages from businesses will be upgraded with RCS business messaging, too, and Huawei users will be able to make video calls through the Android Messages app using ViLTE and Google Duo.
Google began making a big push for RCS and improved messaging with the launch of Android Messages around one year ago. Companies like LG, Motorola, Sony, ZTE, Micromax, and HMD Global all partnered with Google to offer Android Messages on their devices, and now Huawei is doing the same. The Android Messages app is a clean, good-looking way to chat with others, and it's good to see that Huawei will be adopting the app across its portfolio.
