Back in March, the ZTE Axon 7 began receiving an update to Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Now it’s time for that phone’s little sibling to get the same update.
ZTE is now updating the Axon 7 Mini to Android 7.1.1. One of the most notable features of this update is support for T-Mobile Wi-Fi Calling, which means that T-Mo customers will be able to make calls as well as send and receive texts over Wi-Fi if they’re in an area with little or no cellular coverage.
Here’s ZTE’s full changelog for this update:
If you’ve got a ZTE Axon 7 Mini, you can now go into your phone’s Settings app to manually check for this update. ZTE cautions that your phone may restart during the update process, but that this is normal.
It’s great to see ZTE continue to support their phones with Android OS updates and new features. There aren’t a ton of Android devices out there running Android 7.1 or higher, so for Axon 7 Mini owners, this update is definitely worth getting excited about.
