We’ve been hearing a lot about 5G in recent weeks, and today Sprint divulged a bit about its 5G plans.
Sprint says that it’s working with Qualcomm and SoftBank to launch 5G coverage and devices in late 2019. The three companies plan to develop 5G tech, like the 3GPP New Radio (NR) standard, using 2.5GHz (band 41) spectrum.
Most of the details on Sprint’s 5G rollout are still up a mystery, but at least now we’re starting to get an idea the big yellow carrier’s plans for 5G Of course, Sprint will continue to beef up its existing network while it also works on 5G, using tech like HPUE to continue to improve its existing LTE coverage.
