One of the main features of Google Maps is giving you directions to your destination, but now the app will also help you find your car when you’re ready to leave, too.
Google Maps for Android and iOS can now save your parking location. Simply tap the blue dot and select “Save your parking” on Android or “Set as parking location” on iOS and your parking spot will be saved into the app.
On Android, you can also add additional details about your parking location, like how much time you have left on your parking meter, and you can see an image of the parking location and share the location with friends if you’d like. Meanwhile, iOS owners can view images of their parking location with friends and view images of the location.
Google also notes that Google Maps for iOS includes automatic parking detection when your phone is connected to your car using USB audio or Bluetooth.
Sometimes it can be difficult to remember exactly where you parked, especially if you’re parking in a large city and have to park several blocks away from your actual destination. Now Google Maps will help to make sure that you can always find your car.
