Samsung’s recent flagships have been powered by equally flagship-tier processors in the US, like the Galaxy S8 with its Snapdragon 835 chipset. And according to a new report, Samsung and Qualcomm plan to continue that trend with the Galaxy S9.
A new report claims that Samsung and Qualcomm are working on a new processor for next year’s Galaxy S smartphone, expected to be called the Galaxy S9. Details on the new processor aren’t yet know, but it’ll reportedly be known as the Snapdragon 845.
Samsung is the biggest Android smartphone maker around, and so the company uses a lot of Qualcomm processors. And because its phones demand a lot, from running a bunch of apps to offering virtual reality experiences and more, Samsung could help Qualcomm design a processor that can handle all of those features and whatever else is thrown at it.
