Typically when we see an Android flip phone, it’s a model that’ll only ever be available in China. That’s not the case today, though.
The ZTE Cymbal-T is a new flip phone that runs Android Lollipop. Other specs of the Cymbal-T include a 3.5-inch touchscreen, 5-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras, and 8GB of storage with a microSD slot for adding more storage.
The Cymbal-T is powered by a Snapdragon 210 processor and includes 1GB of RAM. The included 1,800mAh battery promises 10 hours of talk time, and there is 4G LTE support here as well.
ZTE’s Cymbal-T is now available from the Home Shopping Network for $99.95, a price that’ll get you the phone as well as a car charger, case, a “Premium Smartphone Elite for Android” app bundle, and service voucher for 1200 minutes, 1200 texts, and 1200MB of data on TracFone.
Given its $99.95 price tag, it’s no surprise that the ZTE Cymbal-T has a pretty low-end spec list. What makes this phone notable is that it’s an Android device with a clamshell form factor rather than a slab with a big touchscreen like just about every other smartphone on the market. And while the Cymbal-T certainly isn’t the first Android flip phone in existence, it is one of the only ones that we’ve ever seen here in the US.
