Days after AT&T launched roaming in Cuba, T-Mobile has done the same.
T-Mobile announced this morning that its customers can now roam in Cuba. Pricing is set at $2.00 per minute for calling, $0.50 for each sent SMS and MMS message (receiving messages is free), and $2.00 per megabyte for data.
T-Mo also notes that if you use Wi-Fi Calling, you can call from Cuba to the US for free.
If you’re in the US, T-Mobile offers calling to Cuba at a rate of $0.60 per minute. To get this rate, though, you’ll need to sign up for the Stateside International Talk add-on, which costs $15 per month.
Roaming in Cuba is new and isn’t exactly cheap for US wireless consumers, but it is convenient, enabling you to use your regular phone and phone number while in Cuba. So while you’re going to pay for it, roaming in Cuba is a nice feature to have.
