Now that Android 7.0 has been released to Nexus devices, many folks are wondering if their non-Nexus device might get a taste of Nougat. If you’ve got a Sony device, today we’ve got an answer to your update question.
Sony has revealed the devices that it plans on updating to Android 7.0. Unsurprisingly, recent releases like the Xperia X Performance and Xperia Z5 will be updated to Nougat, but there are a couple of not-so-recent devices that’ll get Nougat, too.

Sony doesn’t hint at any new features it might include with these Android 7.0 updates or when they’ll be released. Sony does say that it’s “really excited about the new Sony features & functionality and the improvements we’ve made to the user experience,” though, and that it’ll share more info soon.
Most of the Xperia devices that’ll be updated to Android 7.0 are to be expected, but if you own one of the aforementioned devices, it’s nice to get official confirmation that you’ll be receiving Nougat. Now we wait for Sony to bake its special features into Nougat and then announce the rollouts for these updates.
