Last week, Motorola officially introduced us to the new Moto Z and Moto Z Force, as well as their new Moto Mods modules. Those modules add different features when snapped onto the back of the Moto Z phones, like a projector or extra battery, but Motorola didn’t announce how much adding those features will cost. Now we may have an idea of their pricing.
The My Verizon app may have revealed the pricing for Motorola’s first batch of Moto Mods. Spotted by Reddit user Justahumananimal, the My Verizon app listed the Insta-Share Projector Moto Mod at $299, the Wireless Charging Power Pack at $99.99, the Power Pack at $89.99, and the SoundBoost at $79.99. Motorola will also offer Style Shells that’ll change the look of the Moto Z’s backside, but no pricing info for those shells has been revealed.
We’ll have to wait until the Moto Z and Moto Mods launch before this pricing is officially official, but I could see the prices listed in the My Verizon app being the real deal. As a refresher, the Insta-Share Projector includes a pico projector and a battery that’ll power the project for one hour before tapping into the phone’s battery, so that module isn’t going to be cheap. There are the battery packs, which pack a battery into a case that you can attach to the back of your phone and even add wireless charging if you’d like, and the SoundBoost adds a speaker, kickstand, and built-in battery to power that speaker.
The Moto Z, Moto Z Force, and Moto Mods will launch at Verizon this summer. What do you think of the Moto Mods modules that we’ve seen so far?
