Mobile payments are still in early days, but we regularly see more banks and retailers start working with mobile payment services. Today another major name has pledged support for mobile payments.
Kentucky Fried Chicken announced today that it will support Android Pay, Apple Pay, and Samsung Pay. Support for the three payment services is rolling out to some stores right now, and it’s expected that all KFC restaurants will have support by the end of this summer.
It’s also worth noting that in addition to working in the restaurants, the mobile payment services will work in KFC drive-thrus, too.
KFC is a major fast-food chain, and so it’s a big deal that all of its US stores are adding support for mobile payments. To gain traction with consumers, services like Android Pay, Apple Pay, and Samsung Pay need to be put in front of people so that they can actually try paying for things with their phone, and having a presence in KFC restaurants will definitely put those services in front of more people.
