Yesterday we showed you a teaser and a leaked render of the Xiaomi Mi Max, an upcoming Android phablet that’s rumored to have a 6.4-inch display. Today Xiaomi revealed when we’ll get our first official look at its supersized new phone and the other goodies that’ll debut alongside it.

Xiaomi has taken to its official Weibo page to announce a May 10 event that’ll include the reveal of the Mi Max. The company also says that it’ll show off the Mi Band 2 and its new MIUI 8 user interface there. No official details of the Mi Max have been revealed, but Xiaomi has posted a teaser video that shows the refreshed notification shade in MIUI 8. You can see it at the top of this post.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has posed for a photo (shown below) wearing what appears to be the Mi Band 2. The device differs from the original Mi Band in that it appears to have a simple display and a button that could be used for scrolling through the different info that it tracks, like steps taken and the time.

Xiaomi’s Mi Band is a super-affordable fitness tracker, carrying a price tag of just $15 in the US. If Xiaomi is added a display, even a simple one, and a button to the Mi Band 2, you’d think that those features would make the Mi Band 2 a bit pricier than its predecessor. Considering that the Mi Band’s low price is part of its appeal, though, Xiaomi would probably like to keep the Mi Band 2’s price low, too. It remains to be seen if they’ll be able to hit the same $15 price point as the original Mi Band, but the good news is that we should find out in less than one month.
