Inbox by Gmail isn’t the only Google app getting an update today, as Google Keep is gaining some new features, too.
A new update to Google Keep is adding two new features to its mobile apps. First up is the ability to create a note while you’re in a different app. Simply open up the “Share via” window and select Google Keep and you’ll be able to create a new note right there.
The other new feature for the mobile version of Google Keep is #Labels. You can use this to add hashtags to you’re notes to organize and categorize them. For example, you could use #important, #recipes, or whatever other labels you can think of.
Google also notes that its moved around some of the menus in the Google Keep apps to help make it better organized. Some menus have been grouped together with similar menus, like the “Add content” and “Customize & share” buttons are now close together.
In other Google Keep news, Google has launched a new Keep Chrome extension that’s similar to the sharing feature that’s new in the mobile app in that it’ll let you click the Keep icon in your browser ad create a note right there.
These are some nifty new features to help you more quickly create notes and better organize the ones that you’ve already got. The “Share via” feature in the mobile apps is especially handy, as it means that you’ll be able to create a new note whenever something comes to you rather than spending time jumping from one app to Keep and then starting a note in there.
Do you use Google Keep?
