Along with its past few Galaxy S flagships, Samsung has also unleashed “Active” versions of the devices that are a bit tougher thanks to the addition of water and dust resistance. And it looks like the Galaxy S7 will be no different.
Samsung appears to be readying a Galaxy S7 Active. That name is being referenced in the description of the Samsung Level app, which can be used to control the features of Samsung’s Level audio gear, like its wireless headphones. The app description includes a list of all of the devices that it supports, and right there in-between the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge is “Galaxy S7 Active.”
Unfortunately, while the Samsung Level app does include the Galaxy S7 Active name, it doesn’t offer up any other information about the device. What will be interesting is seeing what kind of features this Galaxy S7 Active will offer if it does exist, because the regular Galaxy S7 and S7 edge already offer water and dust resistance. Perhaps Samsung will give the Galaxy S7 Active a body that’s more rugged than the glass-covered GS7 and GS7 edge.
