ZTE’s Spro family of Android-powered projectors is growing again today with the Spro Plus.

Like past Spro devices, the ZTE Spro Plus features a touchscreen. What’s different about the Spro Plus is that its AMOLED touchscreen is huge, measuring in at 8.4 inches. To compare, the Spro 2’s screen was 5 inches in size. The Spro Plus’s display is high-res too, offering a resolution of 2560x1600.

Of course, like past Spro devices, the Spro Plus can act as a projector. Its projector uses lasers to project at 500 lumens, and you can get an 80-inch image by placing the device 2.4 meters away from the surface that you want to project on.

ZTE has crammed a JBL Audio System with two 4 watt speakers into the Spro Plus, too. The remainder of its spec list includes a Snapdragon 801 or 625 processor, 32 or 128GB of built-in storage, a microSD slot for adding up to 2TB of additional storage, 3GB of RAM, a 12,100mAh battery, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. ZTE plans to offer an LTE-enabled version of the Spro Plus that will support Voice over LTE as well.

The ZTE Spro Plus will launch by summer 2016, but ZTE isn’t yet talking price.

With a large high-res display and beefy battery, the Spro Plus seems more like a combination tablet and projector than just a “smart projector.” It might be a bit chunkier than most standalone tablets, but in exchange for that added thickness, you’re gaining the ability to project whatever your looking at onto a wall, which could make the Spro Plus a more compelling entertainment option for some folks. That said, it’ll be interesting to see how ZTE prices the Spro Plus, given specs like its 8.4-inch 2560x1600 display.
