Heads up, Android users, because Google is giving its weather feature a new look.
The updated weather app was just revealed by Google. The update brings with it new information like hourly sky conditions, rain chance, severe weather alerts, air quality, UV index, sunrise and sunset times, 10-day forecast and more. This information is surfaced when you search for “weather.”
When you tap on the weather result, you can then save your favorite locations. Simply search for a location and then hit “Add.”
Finally, the updated weather experience adds a new, cartoony bit of design to help you get an idea of what the weather is like at a glance. Included is Google’s “meteorologically inclined friend” as well as background colors that’ll change as the sky conditions around you do.
This new weather experience looks like a solid upgrade over the previous offering, which was a rather barebones effort that had a time of day slider, temperature, and a bit of info like wind and humidity. The new-look experience offers a ton more information and is much more visually appealing. To try this new weather experience for yourself, be sure to update to the latest version of the Google app.
