One day after the Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock leaked all over the Internet, the accessory has been officially confirmed.
The Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock is a plastic disc with a magnetic charger in the middle of the unit. With the entire disc flat, you can lay an Apple Watch face up to charge. You can also take advantage of watchOS 2’s Nightstand mode, though, by flipping the charging puck in the middle upward.
The dock comes with a 2 meter Lightning cable, and the whole package costs $79. Note that the dock does not come with a separate Apple Watch charging puck — that’s built into the dock — or a wall charger. You can buy the Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock online right now, and it’ll be in stores starting November 20.
While $79 may be a bit pricey for a charging dock for your Apple Watch, the dock does look like it’d make it a bit easier to drop the Apple Watch into Nightstand. The dock also gives your Apple Watch a nice little platform to charge on.
