BlackBerry sells many of its recent smartphones directly to consumers, including the new BlackBerry Priv. That’s good to see, but having more buying options isn’t a bad thing. So it’s nice that the BlackBerry Priv is now available from Amazon, too.
Yes, Amazon is now selling the BlackBerry Priv for $699, the same price that BlackBerry is asking. What’s notable is that because the Priv is being sold by Amazon, it qualifies for free 2-day shipping if you’re an Amazon Prime member. That alone may convince some folks to buy from Amazon instead of BlackBerry. Amazon is also shipping units right now, while some other retailers say that they won’t ship until later this month.
It’s also worth mentioning that the BlackBerry Priv being sold by Amazon is the same unlocked model that you’ll get from BlackBerry. That means that it includes support for 4G LTE on bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 17, 20, 29, 30, so it’ll work nicely on AT&T and T-Mobile in the US.
