Google has updated its Google app for iOS, and while the changelog is small, the additions are still notable.
The first new feature included with this Google app update is the ability to add a photo or review for a place from within the app. The second addition is also place-related, letting you get map results in the app when searching for a place.
Finally, you can now play animated GIFs in the image search results of the Google app. Simply tap a GIF to enlarge it and it’ll start looping.
With this update, Google is making its app a more suitable replacement for searching for things using a web browser. Now you can locate and review places using the Google app, and if you’re a GIF user, you can use it to find the perfect response GIF to a friend or co-worker. Google likely hopes that with additions like these, you’ll turn to the Google app for searching instead of your web browser.
