There are a lot of folks out there still waiting for an invitation to Project Fi, but if you’re one of the lucky folks that are already on the service, you’re about to get something else that a lot of Android users are dying to get.
Google says that all Project Fi phones — which are only Nexus 6s at this point — will be getting an update to Android 5.1.1 “over the next few days.” If you’re feeling impatient, you can go to Settings > About phone > System updates to check for it manually, but you might just have to wait until the update comes to you.
Android 5.1.1 is the very latest version of Google’s mobile OS, and while it’s not a major upgrade over Android 5.1, it does include some improvements and bug fixes. And hey, I’m sure that most folks would prefer to be on the latest version of Android if they had the choice.
Are any of you already on Project Fi?
