Google announced at the end of May that its latest Android Wear update, which adds goodies like always-on apps and Wi-Fi support, had started rolling out to devices in the wild. Many Android Wear users have likely been keeping an eye out for the update since then, but when it comes to the Moto 360, there’s been no update to be found. Now Motorola has opened up about the situation.
In response to a question on Twitter about the Moto 360 and its Android 5.1.1 update, Motorola explains that the performance of the update on the Moto 360 is “not quite there yet.” Moto goes on to say that it’s working with Google to get the update working as it should, but the company offered no timeframe in which the actual rollout might begin.

On the one hand, I’m sure that Moto 360 owners are getting frustrated that they’re still waiting for their Android 5.1.1 update and that there’s no ETA on when the rollout might begin. On the other hand, it’s probably good that Motorola is taking its time to ensure that the update actually works properly rather than pushing out a buggy update just so that they can get it out in a hurry. And considering how speedy Motorola’s been with other recent Android updates, I’d say the company deserves to be cut a little slack with this Android Wear update.
