Motorola today launched a new promotion that’ll get you two new Android smartphones for the price of one.
Any customer that buys a Moto X Pure Edition between March 17 and March 24 can get a free Moto E (2nd Gen.) with their purchase. You need to buy a Moto X Pure Edition, which is available for $499.99 for the 16GB model, $549.99 for the 32GB version, or $599.99 for the capacious 64GB variant. You can then add the Moto E (2nd Gen.) to your cart and the Moto E’s price will be subtracted from your discount.
The Moto X Pure Edition is the unlocked, carrier-free version of Motorola’s Moto X (2nd Gen.) Since the device isn’t attached to a carrier, it’s typically the first to get software updates from Motorola.
I recently reviewed the Moto E (2nd Gen.) and found it to be a pretty nice affordable smartphone. It’s worth noting that the Moto E (2nd Gen.) that you’ll get through this promotion is only good for the Moto E (2nd Gen.) 3G model, which lacks 4G LTE connectivity and has a Snapdragon 200 processor, not the Snapdragon 410 that’s in the LTE-equipped Moto E (2nd Gen.) Despite those changes, the Moto E (2nd Gen.) is still a well-built little Android phone that’d make a solid backup device, or you could give your free phone to someone that could use an entry-level handset.
