Due to the huge number of rumors, speculations, pictures, and tentative launch dates floating around the internet regarding BlackBerry devices, I have decided to devote this Weekly News In Review segment to recapping the BlackBerry news and rumors that have been circulating week-to-date.



Information on Verizon's upcoming BlackBerry lineup

• According to the information obtained by BGR, all BlackBerry devices launched on Verizon after the Tour 9630 will include Wi-Fi. 
• Upcoming launches include the BlackBerry Storm 2 (which supposedly ditches the SurePress screen - more on that below), BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 (believed to be "imminent" - late May or early June), and of course, the BlackBerry Tour 9630.
• BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 specifications include EVDO Rev. 0, 2 megapixel camera, 3.5 ounces, 128 MB flash memory, RAM 64 MB, microSD card slot with expandability up to 16GB.  Usage/Standby will be 220 min./216 hrs.

BlackBerry Storm 2 pictures leaked
If you haven't seen the pictures, they can be found here.  According to sources, the device will ditch the SurePress technology adopted by the original Storm for a normal touchscreen experience.  The tipster describes the screen as "just like the iPhone's."  The real question comes in a question posed by a user on Twitter: will Verizon subsidize pricing of the Storm 2 for users of the current Storm, much like Apple did with the iPhone?



BlackBerry Tour 9630 shows up in Bell's inventory system, then in Verizon's
Earlier in the week, the Tour 9630 made a cameo appearance - in spirit, at least - in Bell's (Canada) inventory system.  Not wanting the boys up North to have all of the fun, the device also showed up in Verizon's systems today.  Though none are in stock, it appears that the system is geared to begin shipping units soon.

The BlackBerry Onyx/Driftwood models to launch on AT&T and T-Mobile

• The BlackBerry "Onyx" is
  headed to AT&T with Wi-Fi and a QWERTY keyboard similar to the
  BlackBerry Tour 9630 - no release date or price available at this time,
  though.
  
• The BlackBerry "Driftwood" is
  cosmetically identical to the Onyx and is headed to T-Mobile for a
  rumored September launch date.  It will offer Wi-Fi and UMA, and will
  support the AWS 1700 MHz band, making it T-Mobile's first 3G BlackBerry!
• Though the pictures show a trackball, this is a pre-production model.  The actual device will offer the optical trackpad at launch (most likely changed to some creative RIM marketing name when released).
• BGR's
  sources suggest that it will launch in the 96XX product family, making
  it (perhaps) the 9600 or 9620, putting it in the same product family as
  the BlackBerry Tour 9630.
