Hey Kids ... Happy Monday, and a quick hello to you.
First off, congrats to the Tampa Bay Rays! No, I'm not a Rays fan - I'm not much on baseball in general, actually. Having lived in New York for nine years, I just like to see Boston sports teams lose. So big ups to Joe Maddon and the gang!
Several people have asked when the full review of the LG Lotus is coming. It'll be here very soon! It turns out I got my Lotus before all of Lotus' services were operational on Sprint's network, so I had to wait a few days before I could check out things like YouTube functionality on the device. Everything's up and running now, though, so the full review will be coming shortly.
It's also been, um, just a little bit busy around here - so there's plenty to tide you over if you're waiting on that Lotus review! Obviously we did a lot of T-Mobile G1 coverage last week. We'll have a little more for you this week, and I've been getting some interesting requests for comparison videos and coverage of specific features. "How can I track the destruction of my stock portfolio on the G1?" seems to be a common question, if a macabre one. So stay tuned for more G1 stuff, most likely including a Dogfight of some sort ...
Beyond that, we've got A TON of new releases to cover for you. Here's a quick glance at what came into the PhoneDog West offices last week:
Beyond that, I'm still working with the LG Lotus (Sprint) and, of course, the G1. And we're expecting more devices in the coming weeks: The holiday shopping season is just ramping up, so we should see a bunch of new phones being released in the next month or two - high profile devices like the HTC Touch Pro for Sprint and AT&T, BlackBerry Storm for Verizon (and maybe even the Bold on AT&T) and Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, and plenty of "lower end" phones that will pack a ton of functionailty at very low prices. AT&T's already announced three more QWERTY phones to go with Matrix, LG's working on some more stuff for the holidays, and you can be sure that the other phone companies also have a few tricks up their sleeves for the rest of 2008.
Adriana, John, and I will get you the news, photos, and videos on all of the new products and services right here on PhoneDog. And remember, it's always free to check the phones out here on the site - do your research before you buy, or simply enjoy the reviews and videos of new devices while getting the most out of your current phone thanks to our Tips & Tricks and Forums.
