NVIDIA has worked to provide speedy Android OS updates to its SHIELD devices like the portable and tablet, and today NVIDIA confirmed that won’t change when it comes to Android 5.0.
NVIDIA says that it will update the SHIELD tablet to Android 5.0 Lollipop in November, which just so happens to be this month. The update will feature a basically vanilla user interface, meaning that you’ll get to see Material Design as Google intended. NVIDIA is also including new user interfaces for its Dabbler and SHIELD Hub apps.
I love to see Android manufacturers promising speedy updates to their devices, and it’s good to see NVIDIA doing just that with Lollipop. If you’re in the hunt for a new tablet and aren’t quite feeling the Nexus 9, it looks like the SHIELD tablet could be worth a consideration.
