BLU Products has long provided low-cost handsets for anyone shopping for a new Android device, but the company recently have stepped up its game with the BLU Vivo 4.8 HD. Unlike its other affordable phones, the Vivo 4.8 HD focuses on the same aesthetics as flagships; specifically, being thin, light and powerful. It’s packed with a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Also included running is Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with a less aggressive version of BLU's custom skin.
The BLU Vivo 4.8 HD measures in at just 6.9mm thick, making it one of the thinnest phones on the planet. It even beats the iPhone 5s. BLU has constructed its Vivo 4.8 HD with of a polycarbonate shell and a very minimal design that I like quite a lot. It’s fast enough, light enough and thin enough to be an everyday smartphone, and for only $249, it might be one of the best deals around. Its version of Android 4.2 is more open than some of the other BLU devices in existence, and the company has promised that an update to Android 4.4 is coming in the future. Taking all of that into consideration, the Vivo 4.8 HD might just be a viable option for anyone looking for an off-contract, low-cost smartphone.
