The cameras found on smartphones are affecting our daily lives and helping us to take amazing photos that we would have been able to capture without them. The perfect camera is the one that you've got on you, right? So we pitted the iPhone 5s and Sony Xperia Z1s against one another. They both have great camera specs on paper, but how do they perform in the real world? That's what we wanted to know, and since they're both phones as well, we also wanted to compare their software, design, and other features.
The iPhone 5s is a beautiful device made from glass, aluminum and not much else. Its two-tone backside and glorious Apple logo shinee with premium build quality. We can’t say exactly the same thing for its insides, but its new dual-core, 64-bit A7 chip is extremely powerful and can scream just like a device with a quad-core chip thanks to Apple's software optimizations.
Meanwhile, the Xperia Z1s shares a beautiful design with the original Z1. The Z1s doesn't have the same steel band as the Z1, but it does retain the Z1's solid build quality and sleek appearance. The Z1s's insides are showy as well, complete with a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor as well as 2GB of RAM, which is almost twice the power of the iPhone 5s.
