Google’s been busy making over its Android apps with new Material Design looks in recent weeks, and the latest app to get a makeover is Google Play Newsstand.
Google says that its Materal Design-refreshed for Play Newsstand brings with it a new list of articles for magazines, making it easier to find and read the articles you want without losing the big images that make magazines attractive.
Play Newsstand’s Material Design makeover also brings with it larger images, more contextual headers and smoother transitions. Google has included deeper topic cards in Play Newsstand’s Explore section as well, making it easier to find specific topics that you care about, like Palo Diet or Star Wars (Han shot first!).
Google says that the updated version of Play Newsstand will roll out to users throughout the next week. It’s great to see more apps get Material Design refreshes, ensuring that they’ll look nice with Android L when it begins rolling out later this year.
