It's now been a little over a week since Samsung
officially took the wraps off of the Galaxy S5, and while it's unlikely that anyone will forget about the flagship smartphone between now and its April launch, Samsung wants to make sure that we're well aware of its new device and all of the features that it comes with.
Samsung today
posted an official promo video for the Galaxy S5 that offers another look at both the device and its many hardware and software goodies. Clocking in at nearly four minutes in length, the clip shows off the S5's "modern glam design" andfour color options. The video also goes into great detail on the S5's 16-megapixel camera, which includes a speedy auto focus and a Selective Focus feature that allows the user to choose which part of an image that he or she wants to focus on. Finally, Samsung highlights the S5's Finger Scanner, which can be used for extra device security and to confirm mobile payments.
Samsung's promo goes on to highlight some of the Galaxy S5's software features. The device includes a Download Booster option that, when activated, combines Wi-Fi and LTE connections for faster download speeds. There's also an Ultra Power Saving Mode that turns the S5's display black and white to conserve power and several fitness-related features, including S Health, a heart rate sensor, support for setting workout goals and compatibility with Samsung's Gear Fit wearable.
While the Galaxy S5 may not feature a super high-res display or metal body like some rumors had claimed it would, the device still boasts some pretty impressive specs, including a 16-megapixel camera, 2.5GHz quad-core chip and LTE Cat. 4 connectivity. The Galaxy S5's best feature may be its widespread availability, though, which will put it on most every major carrier and give the majority of consumers the chance to pick one up without switching operators.
Now that you've had a week to absorb all of the details of the Galaxy S5, what do you think of Samsung's new flagship smartphone? Are you thinking about buying one when it hits store shelves? If you're still on the fence, be sure to check out our hands-on video with the Galaxy S5
