Verizon is slated to officially begin selling the Nexus 7 LTE in its stores tomorrow, Feb. 13, but it looks like existing owners of Google's 4G tablet are getting ready to hop onto Verizon's LTE network today.

Existing owners of the Nexus 7 LTE have begun receiving an update that "enables full compatibility with Verizon's 4G LTE network." After installing this 37MB bundle of software, users noticed that their 7-inch slate was sporting a new kernel, baseband and KVT49L build number.

As part of the Nexus 7 LTE launch announcement that it made yesterday, Verizon said that existing LTE N7 owners would be able to get their device activated on its network as soon as the N7 had been updated to the latest software. Now it looks like that update is starting to make its way to users, which is good news since it means that folks that already have a Nexus 7 LTE won't have to wait longer to get onto Verizon's network than those consumers that buy a unit from the big red carrier tomorrow.
