Hey, owners of U.S. carrier-branded Moto X models, are you jealous of your Boost Moto G and Canadian Moto X-toting brethren that are now running a newer version of Android than you? Well don't get too worked up, because that may soon change.
According to an email shared by Android Central, Motorola has started alerting members of the Motorola Feedback Network that a "preview of a new software release" for the T-Mobile/GSM unlocked Moto X is about to get underway. Unfortunately for us, the email doesn't offer up any details about when the testing will start or what goodies this update might contain.
As I mentioned at the outset of this post, select Canadian variants of the Moto X began receiving updates to Android 4.4.2 this week, making them the first flavors of the X to get bumped up to the newest version of KitKat. Obviously we won't know for sure if the T-Mobile Moto X is about to get the same treatment, but considering that 4.4.2 is now rolling out in Canada and the fact that Motorola has been pretty on the ball with its software updates recently, I'd say that there's a strong possibility that this T-Mo Moto X's update will bump it to 4.4.2 as well. Here's to hoping that the soak test goes well so that we can put an end to this mystery.
