This past weekend, photos of a new BlackBerry 10 "C-Series" device made their way online, giving us a peek at what appears to be an entry-level version of the full-touch BlackBerry Z30. Today the leaky spotlight is shining on BlackBerry once again, but this time around its reflecting off of a raised set of physical keys rather than bouncing off of the smooth surface of a touchscreen.
An image posted by BGR claims to show a new BlackBerry 10 smartphone referred to by the codename "Kopi." The device has a design that's fairly similar to the Q5 that debuted earlier this year, but the Kopi is expected to come in at a price point that's lower than the BlackBerry Q5. While most of the Kopi's spec details are still a mystery, the phone isn't expected to come to market with 4G LTE support. One feature that it will purportedly have, though, is a removable battery.
Before its official launch, the BlackBerry Q5 was expected to be a sort of Curve-like, low-cost addition in the BlackBerry 10 lineup. Now it looks like BlackBerry is prepping something even more entry-level. If that is indeed the case, the Kopi will fit in nicely with BlackBerry's newfound focus on high-end and entry-level hardware, and it'll be interesting to see exactly just how low BlackBerry can get the device's price. Until we hear more, you can check out an additional shot of the Kopi below and a couple more over at BGR.
