Alcatel has introduced a number of new smartphones at IFA 2013 this week, including the One Touch Idol Alpha and One Touch Hero, but it looks like the firm's still got a few more new devices up its sleeve. Alcatel today announced four new devices in its One Touch Pop series, which it says offers "youthful" and "playful" hardware to consumers in the market for a new handset. Here's what to expect from Alcatel's refreshed One Touch Pop hardware:
- One Touch Pop C1: The entry-level member of the One Touch Pop lineup, the C1 sports a 3.5-inch 480x320 touchscreen on its face and a 2-megapixel shooter around back. Inside the unit lives a 1GHz dual-core processor, 4GB storage, microSD card slot, 512MB RAM and a 1,300mAh battery. The C1 is powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and will be offered in a dual-SIM model.
- One Touch Pop C3: Stepping things up a notch, we've got the One Touch Pop C3 and its 4-inch 800X480 display, 1.3GHz dual-core CPU and 3.2-megapixel rear camera. We're once again looking at 512MB RAM and 4GB of storage, but users will be able to supplement that space with a microSD card. Rounding out the spec list once again is Android 4.2, a 1,300mAh battery and a dual-SIM option.
- One Touch Pop C5: Next up is the One Touch Pop C5, which features an even larger screen than the C1 and C3, coming in at 4.5 inches with a resolution of 854x480. The One Touch Pop C5 also gains a VGA front-facing camera to complement its 5-megapixel rear shooter. Also included with the device is a 1.3GHz dual-core processor, 4GB storage, 512MB RAM, microSD card slot, Android 4.2 and an 1,800mAh battery pack.
- One Touch Pop C7: At the top of the One Touch Pop ladder is the C7. This one steps up the screen size yet again, boasting a 5-inch 854x480 display, and also gets a bump up to a quad-core processor that's clocked at 1.3GHz. Alcatel has also thrown in a 5-megapixel rear camera, a VGA cam on the front, and the same 4GB storage/microSD slot/512MB RAM combo as the other One Touch Pop models. The One Touch Pop C7 is powered by tag team consisting of Android 4.2 and a 2,000mAh battery.
When it comes to availability, the One Touch Pop C1 and C3 are expected to land on store shelves in October, the C5 is due to follow in November and the C7 will land sometime in Q4 2013. There's no word on exact pricing details quite yet, but Alcatel tells us that all four will feature "entry-level" pricing.
