After first confirming way back in October 2012 that Xperia devices like the Xperia S and Xperia ion would be updated to Jelly Bean, Sony has now hinted that those updates are getting very close. The company recently took to its @SonyMobileNews Twitter account to say that the Android 4.1 updates for its Xperia P, Xperia Go, Xperia S, Xperia SL, Xperia acro S and Xperia ion are all in the final stage of work. Sony went on to say that it will share more news on the updates next week.
While most of the information on these updates remain up in the air for now, it's good to hear that the Jelly Bean bump for these six Xperia smartphones is finally almost here. Since they're getting moved up to Android 4.1, owners of the handsets should get access to all of the new features that Google included with that version of its mobile operating system, including Google Now and expandable notifications. Stay tuned and we'll give you more details on these upcoming Xperia Jelly Bean updates just as soon as we get 'em.
