Do you have plans for March 14? If so, you'd better start thinking up an excuse to break them, because Samsung has confirmed that it plans to introduce the Galaxy S IV on that date. J.K. Shin, Samsung's mobile head, confirmed the date to Korean news site eDaily, saying that his firm was "bombarded with requests from U.S. mobile carriers" to announce the next Galaxy S model stateside after last year's London debut. The debut will mark the first time in three years that Samsung has unveiled a Galaxy flagship in the U.S.
March 14 popped up in the rumor mill last week as a possible Galaxy S IV launch date, but now the date is officially set thanks to Samsung's mobile chief. Of course, we'll still be looking forward to actually receiving an actual invitation to the event (be sure to double-check that address and include proper postage, Sammy), just because it'll be interesting to see if Samsung does any teasing of its upcoming flagship. Whatever the company has planned, you can bet that we'll bring you all of the piping hot Galaxy S goodness just as soon as Samsung takes it out of the oven, so keep it locked to PhoneDog for more. What kinds of features are you hoping to see included with the Galaxy S IV?
UPDATE: Just in case you needed extra confirmation before asking for the day off of work, the official Samsung Mobile Twitter account (@samsungmobile) has tweeted out an image for its March 14 Unpacked event. The image confirms the date and location of the event, and the bottom of the invitation teases that we'll get to "meet the next Galaxy." There's also a tagline that reads "Ready 4 The Show," further confirming that the next Galaxy S family member will be attending the event.
