When the Galaxy S III made its international debut, Samsung announced that customers buying its new flagship handset would receive 50GB of storage on Dropbox for free for two years. However, a moderator on Dropbox's official forums has revealed that AT&T and Verizon won't be taking part in the deal. In response to a question from a user that didn't see their free storage appear on their Galaxy S III, the mod explains that "AT&T and Verizon have opted out of this promotion." Additionally, a support page on Dropbox's site titled "Is my Samsung phone eligible for the free space promotion?" contains a section directed at AT&T and Verizon users saying that some carriers have opted out of the promotion, and that AT&T and Verizon are two of those operators not taking part.

While Verizon customers interested in the Galaxy S III will be able to pick up a 32GB Galaxy S III (and AT&T folk can purchase both a 16GB model and a 16GB microSD card), it's kind of a bummer that customers will miss out on two years of free Dropbox storage. Of course, there are other options for users to gain more storage, including the microSD slot on the phone, so Galaxy S III users that need more storage beyond what's built into their phone won't exactly be out of luck.
